The Indian National Army Market, which is
located in the upmarket and posh area of South Delhi, is commonly known as the
INA market is Delhi’s most famous food bazaar. You will be thrilled to find
that you can buy all kinds of food items here – right from seafood, meat,
spices, vegetables, snacks, fruits, all kinds of groceries etc. You name it and
you will find it here. It is probably the only full-fledged food market in
Delhi, hence shopping here is indeed a unique experience. You will also note
that certain food items that you find here will not be available anywhere else,
in the whole of Delhi city.
The INA market is filled with shopkeepers
who are well-versed in English, German, French, Spanish etc. so that they can
deal with foreign tourists easily. One section of this market houses wine and
liquor that are quite rare and expensive. It can be listed out as one of the
few markets in Delhi that sells a particular type of product. Many local and
international buyers come here and they go back with content hearts. All
foreign items like chocolates, ice creams, candies and many more can be found
here in plenty.
Location
Located in South Delhi, this market can be
found between the Ring Railway and Ring Road. Towards the back side of the
market, one can find important structures like DDA office (Vikas Sadan),
Kendriya Vidyalaya, INA Colony Central Vigilance Commission Office, Sewa Nagar
and the main INA colony. This market is located right opposite to Laxmi Bai
Nagar, towards the east of the Aurobindo Marg.
Opening & Closing Timings
The INA (Indian National Army) market opens
at 10 in the morning and goes on till 11 in the night. Every week, the market
is closed for the public on Mondays.

station is highly beneficial for people coming to the INA market, Dilli Haat
and Sarojini Nagar Markets. This market is maintained and managed by the
Airports Authority of India as this is the area where its employees reside. The
name Indian National Army market is derived from the name, Indian National
Airways, which was a privately-operated airline in the earlier days. During
1953, the Indian Government nationalized many airlines and this was one of
them. The nationalized airlines were all combined to form the national carrier,
Indian Airlines during 1953.
By Bus: The INA market and Kidwai Nagar bus
stops are the closest to the market. The market is just a walkable distance
from one of these stops.
